Hyperkin’s SmartBoy Available On Amazon For $50

Hyperkin’s SmartBoy phone accessory has finally been available on Amazon at the price of $50, though it is only for the pre-order before its official launch on August 21st. For those who don’t know, SmartBoy has ever been a very famous accessory for in the 80s and 90s people, and it is now a device which can  turn your smartphone into a traditional GameBoy, with the help of the D-Pad, the start and select buttons, and the A and B buttons. Interestingly, it doesn’t require batteries like the original GameBoy.

If you think it’s only designed those who want a nostalgic way to play GameBoy game ROMs, it could do more than your thought. The SmartBoy allows you play both GameBoy and GameBoy Color cartridges, so if you used to have both of those handheld systems when you were younger but there is no chance of finding the systems, Hyperkin’s SmartBoy is absolutely your solution to enjoy your favorite games.

Although Hyperkin Smartboy is said to be the most compatible with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, but it still works with other devices. There is also a list of devices which is verified support, including the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the Honor 8, OnePlus 2, 3, 3T and 5, Xiaomi Mi 5, 6 and more. The SmartBoy works the best on the screen sizes from 5.2-inches to 6-inches, but the 5-inch screen phones can still work well as there isn’t much differences between 5 and 5.2. The device will use the USB Type-C connection so presumably, it works with a wide range of phones having Type C port for charging, and data transfer. Furthermore, Hyperkin Smartboy will be able to upscale the resolution of the games to the current resolution on your phone.
