The trend of dual camera comes to the throne this year as many OEMs imitates Apple iPhone with a dual rear camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus, though the iPhone was not the first device to be equipped such a feature. And now ASUS ZenFone 4 will be the next smartphone to seemingly follow this trend.
According to some reports, the ASUS ZenFone 4 will be one of the mid-range smartphones that the Taiwanese company launches in different markets. The ZenFone 4 ZE554KL is expected to feature a familiar design package with a metallic frame between glass on the front and the back of the phone. The fingerprint sensor will be embedded the Home button, below a 5.5″ FHD AMOLED display. One of the highlights of the phone is its dual camera setup at the back, comprising of a 12MP main sensor and a secondary 8MP sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The front camera will be a 8MP snapper.
In terms of specs, the “standard” variant will reportedly run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory. Moreover, the report also mentions a higher version of ZenFone 4 with a better processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. The amount of RAM and storage of this variant is not still unveiled, but ASUS would absolutely bump up the storage to make a version with more price points and use-cases. The ZenFone 4 will also support a hybrid dual SIM slot for the microSD expansion. The battery is said to be 3,300 mAh, which will be suitable with the processor.
As for the pricing, the ZenFone 4 is said to be €499.99 ($587) in Europe and it is expected to be officially launched on August 17th.
