Samsung To Launch a Galaxy S8 Mini Variant

Samsung’s duo Galaxy S8 flagships are getting the impressive revenue in most markets around the world. In order to make Galaxy S8 become more popular, Samsung is expected to be working on a new Galaxy S8 device. The new device will come in form of a “mini” variant of the Galaxy S8. Samsung has stopped launching a “mini” version of its flagship since the Galaxy S5, so we are still unclear if these rumors are true.

The rumored Galaxy S8 Mini will come with a 5.3-inch display with the similar Infinity Display like on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. With the 18.5:9 aspect ratio, the screen will be similar to a 4.7-inch device. In terms specs, the S8 Mini is not able to be as powerful as its brother Galaxy S8. Instead of the Galaxy S8 Mini will only be powered by t least year’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core 64-bit chipset. But fortunately, the phone will still come with 4GB of RAM, similarly to the regular Galaxy S8. In storage department, the phone reportedly packs 32GB of expandable storage, which isn’t too bad for a upper high-end device. An iris scanner also appears on the Galaxy S8 Mini, which can be only seen so far on Galaxy flagships. Although it does not come in the same league as the latest flagship smartphones in the hardware department, the Snapdragon 821 SoC is still impressive for a “Mini” smartphone. Currently, there is only a “Mini” device on the market that is Sony’s Xperia XZ Compact.
